Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Mafiya Akter Mim, a 17-year-old college student, comes from a struggling family of six living in a small tin house, with her father working as a day laborer earning around 7,000 BDT per month. She has been suffering from severe abdominal pain for ten days, which disrupted her studies and threatened her dream of becoming a teacher. Her family cannot afford the urgent surgery needed to treat her acute appendicitis due to their limited income and daily hardships. Without timely medical intervention, she could face life-threatening complications that would endanger her life and future. Despite these challenges, Mafiya remains determined to recover and continue her education normally, inspiring hope for her family.

If the surgery is performed promptly, she is expected to recover fully, with her abdominal pain relieved and her risk of infection eliminated. Timely intervention will allow her to return to her normal life and continue her studies without disruption.
