Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About rti + malaria

Malaria is a mosquito-borne parasitic disease that causes fever, chills, and weakness, but is curable with timely antimalarial treatment. Respiratory tract infections (RTIs) affect the airways, ranging from mild colds to severe pneumonia, and outcomes are good with early care. Hajara was presented with the complaint of fever, vomiting, watery stool and cough.

Background

Hajara is 2 years old, the last child among 5 children. She is living with parents, and everyone is always happy with the way little Hajara is active. Her father is a small scale farmer and the mother is a house wife. They're all working and struggling to take care of the children in their lives. They live in a 3 bedroom house with a toilet separately from the house. She had been having symptoms of malaria for some days, but because of lack of finances, the condition keeps getting worse, despite giving her a paracetamol syrup, nothing positive changed. They were informed about Helpster Charity by a neighbor which made them reach out to Albisbir Hospital. They were there for proper evaluation. Upon presentation and proper evaluation at our hospital , she was diagnosed with malaria and Respiratory tract infection.

Medical history

Hajara a 2 yo girl child has been having high body temperature, coughing refusal to eat and body weakness. She was brought to our facility by the mother for help due to financial difficulty to be assisted by Helpster Charity. The child was admitted and diagnosed with respiratory tract infection and malaria. Treatment commenced with injection antimalarials, injection antibiotics as well as fluids. Child responded to treatment and was stable, body temperature was normalised, feeding continued well, strength was regained back and no more crying. She was discharged to be returned after 1 week for follow up. The family are so happy for the support by Helpster Charity.

Prognosis

The doctor opined that with early diagnosis and proper treatment, malaria usually has a good prognosis, but delayed care can lead to severe complications or death. RTIs also carry a favorable outlook when mild or promptly treated, though severe forms like pneumonia may become life-threatening without timely management.
