Background
Nurzahan Khatun, a 35-week pregnant housewife, comes from a poor family struggling to survive on her husband’s meager income as a day laborer, around 8,000 BDT per month. With two children already born by cesarean section, and now facing severe oligohydramnios with reduced fetal movement, her pregnancy is at high risk of serious complications that could endanger both her life and her unborn baby. Their small tin house shelters five family members, and her husband, already burdened with loans from previous cesarean deliveries, cannot afford the high cost of another surgery. Despite her hardship, Nurzahan is a devoted mother who dreams of giving birth to a healthy baby and enjoys caring for her family through her love of cooking. Without timely treatment, the family fears losing both mother and child, which would be a devastating tragedy for her children and husband.
Medical history
Nurzahan Khatun was admitted to the hospital on September 01, 2025, with a diagnosis of a third pregnancy with severe oligohydramnios while her last two deliveries were C-section. However, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby on 01 September, 2025. Both mother and newborn were discharged on September 06, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, Abdullah, and Amulla for their treatment and support. Prognosis
The doctor strongly recommends an urgent cesarean section for Nurzahan Khatun to prevent life-threatening complications for both mother and baby. With severe oligohydramnios and reduced fetal movements, delaying treatment could result in stillbirth, birth defects, or serious maternal complications such as uterine rupture. A timely C-section offers the best chance of delivering a healthy baby and protecting the mother’s life, especially given her history of two previous cesarean deliveries.
