The patient is suffering from post dated pregnancy(41+weeks) with severe oligohydro amnions with less fetal movement.This patient is in a high-risk pregnancy situation at 41+ weeks. The presence of oligohydramnios, which is a dangerously low level of amniotic fluid, is a significant concern as it can put the baby at risk for complications like umbilical cord compression. Compounding this, the patient is post dated pregnancy and she felt less fetal movement for 2 days, which makes her current and future deliveries more complex and necessitate C-section. This combination of factors requires close medical supervision to ensure the safety of both the mother and the baby.

Background
Rina Akter, a 19-year-old housewife, is a gentle young woman who dreams of a simple, happy life with her husband Mohammad Nasim, who works in a tea shop earning only 9,000 taka per month. Together, they live in a joint family of six, including Rina’s in-laws Altaf Hossain (55) and Nazma Begum (45), her brother-in-law Nazmul Islam (19, a student), and sister-in-law Sultana (15, also a student). With such a small income, it is already difficult for the family to manage daily expenses, making medical costs impossible to bear. At 41+ weeks of pregnancy, Rina developed complications with no labour pain and reduced fetal movement, and an ultrasonogram revealed severe oligohydramnios. Without an urgent caesarean section, both Rina’s life and her unborn child’s survival are in grave danger.
Medical history
After experiencing, less fetal movement for 2 days without labour pain over 41+ weeks of her pregnancy , she arrived at our hospital at 9.0AM in 24 august, where doctors performed an ultrasound and clinical examination that revealed severe oligohydro amnions with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful male baby . Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 27 august 2025.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.
Prognosis
Given the patient's condition, the doctor's prognosis emphasizes the necessity of close monitoring and timely intervention to ensure a safe outcome. If the oligohydramnios is left unaddressed, the risk of the umbilical cord becoming compressed increases dramatically, which can cut off the baby's vital oxygen and nutrient supply and lead to fetal distress, brain damage, or even stillbirth. The doctor's treatment plan will likely involve careful fetal monitoring and a decision on the safest time and method of delivery, which, given the previous C-section, will likely be a planned cesarean section. By proceeding with a medically supervised delivery, the doctors can mitigate the risks associated with both the low amniotic fluid and the prior surgical history, leading to a much safer and healthier outcome for both the mother and the baby.
