Fatema Akter, an 8-year-old cheerful and loving girl, dreams of continuing her education and becoming a teacher to help other children in her village. She lives with her widowed mother, Nasima Akter, twin sister Kulsuma, elder brother Shihab, eldest sister Soniya, and little brother Abdullah in a small tin-made house, struggling to survive after her father’s death. Recently diagnosed with Retinal Vein Occlusion (RVO) in both eyes, Fatema urgently needs evaluation and treatment, including Anti-VEGF injections and laser therapy, to prevent permanent blindness. Her mother, who sometimes works as a maid to provide for the family, cannot afford the costly treatment of BDT 40,500. Without urgent care, Fatema risks losing her sight, which would destroy her ability to study, pursue her dreams, and live a normal childhood, leaving her family desperate for support.

Fatema Akter, a 8-years old girl, was experiencing serious vision problems due to retinal complications that required immediate medical intervention. After diagnosis, she received Anti-VEGF injections and PRP laser treatment in both eyes under the expert care of Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Retina Specialist of the Hospital. Saiful Islam, Retina and ROP Specialist at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, Fatema requires immediate Anti-VEGF injections and laser treatment to stop further damage and restore her vision. The doctors are hopeful that with proper treatment, her eyesight can be significantly improved, allowing her to return to school and enjoy a normal childhood. However, if left untreated, the prognosis is very poor—Fatema will become permanently blind, losing her independence, her education, and her future. The doctors emphasize the urgency of this treatment, as timely intervention is the only way to save her vision and change the course of her life.
