Background
Monira Akter, a 22-year-old mother with a history of complicated pregnancy, is now 25 weeks into her second pregnancy, facing oligohydramnios and fetal distress that put both her and her unborn child at serious risk. Her husband, a day laborer, struggles to provide for their small family of four, which includes their 3-year-old son and her mother-in-law, leaving them unable to afford the urgent emergency C-section recommended by doctors. Despite her gentle nature and dedication to her family, Monira’s condition could quickly become life-threatening without timely surgical intervention. If untreated, both she and her baby could suffer severe complications, including death. The family’s only hope lies in receiving support to ensure a safe delivery and protect their future together.
Medical history
The patient,Monira Akter was admitted to City Clinic on 28th December 2025. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy 3 kg female baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 01th January 2025 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.
Prognosis
The doctor has emphasized that a timely cesarean section is the only safe option for Monira Akter and her baby, offering the best chance for survival and a healthy outcome. With proper surgical intervention, both mother and child are expected to recover well, avoiding long-term complications. However, if left untreated, the combination of oligohydramnios, fetal distress, and her history of a previous cesarean significantly increases the risk of umbilical cord compression, oxygen deprivation, uterine rupture, and ultimately life-threatening consequences for both. Early surgical delivery will prevent these dangers and ensure the safe birth of her baby while protecting Monira’s health.
