Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Rahima Begum, a 23-year-old kind and loving woman, lives in a small household of five with her husband, in-laws, and young brother-in-law. Her husband, Ariful Islam, works as a daily wage laborer earning only 9,000 BDT per month, which barely feeds the family and covers school expenses for his younger brother, leaving nothing for costly medical treatment. At 37+ weeks pregnant, Rahima endured more than 24 hours of failed home labor before being rushed to the hospital, where an ultrasonogram revealed obstructed labor with fetal distress. Doctors have urgently advised an immediate caesarean section to save both mother and baby. Without this surgery, Rahima’s life and her unborn child’s survival are in grave danger, a heartbreaking risk for a family that already struggles just to get by.

After experiencing labour pain for more than 24 hours with failed home trial over 37+weeks of her pregnancy , she arrived at our hospital at10.0 AM in 12 September , where doctors performed an ultrasound and clinical examination that revealed obstructed labour with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful male baby . Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 15 September 2025.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

Prognosis

Given the patient's condition, doctor diagnosed this case as an obstructed labour with fetal distress. the doctor's prognosis emphasizes the necessity of close monitoring and timely intervention to ensure a safe outcome. If obstructed labour left untreated, that leads to brain damage, or even stillbirth of the baby as well as death of mother. The doctor's treatment plan will likely involve careful fetal monitoring and a decision on the safest time and method of delivery and this plan is to do immediate caesarean section operation .
