This has been accompanied by severe lower abdominal pain, indicating the onset of labor complications. PROM at this stage increases the risk of maternal and neonatal infection, umbilical cord prolapse, and distress to the fetus due to loss of protective amniotic fluid. Given the advanced stage of pregnancy and the severity of symptoms, her condition is considered high-risk and requires immediate medical intervention to prevent further complications and ensure a safe delivery for both mother and baby.

Background
Borsa, a calm and responsible young woman who dreams of one day building her own agricultural farm, is now facing a critical moment in her pregnancy. At 9 months and 2 weeks, she developed severe abdominal pain and premature rupture of membranes, with USG revealing severe oligohydramnios that threatens both her and her baby’s life. She lives with six family members, and her husband is the sole earner, making only 6,000 BDT a month, barely enough to cover daily needs. Without urgent treatment, the risk of infection and serious complications could endanger both mother and child. The family, already struggling for survival, cannot afford the high cost of emergency care and desperately seeks support to save Borsa and her baby
Medical history
After being admitted on 01.09.2025 with serious pregnancy complications, Borsa received timely medical care to address her condition. She underwent surgery, which ensured the safety of both her and her baby. Following the procedure, her health improved steadily, and she responded well to the care provided. The baby was delivered safely and remained in stable condition. Due to her good progress and stable health, Borsa was discharged on 04.09.2025. She is now at home, doing well and spending precious time with her newborn.
Prognosis
Borsa is in a critical stage of her second pregnancy at 9 months and 2 weeks, presenting with premature rupture of membranes, severe abdominal pain, and heavy per vaginal watery discharge. Without immediate medical intervention, such as a cesarean section, the risk of intrauterine fetal death (IUFD) significantly increases due to potential fetal distress and infection. Delay in treatment could also endanger the mother's health, leading to life-threatening complications. However, if a Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) is performed promptly, the baby has a high chance of survival and a healthy life ahead. Timely surgical delivery is crucial to protect both mother and child from preventable harm.
