Background
Most Aklima Khatun, a 30-year-old gentle and hardworking housewife, lives in a small tin-shed home with her husband, young daughter, and elderly mother-in-law, making a family of four. Her husband earns only 7,000 BDT a month as a day laborer, which barely covers food and basic survival, leaving no means to afford the urgent treatment she needs. Now 37 weeks pregnant, her ultrasound has revealed severe oligohydramnios (largest fluid pocket <1 cm), and with a history of two previous C-sections, her case is extremely high-risk. Doctors have recommended an immediate cesarean section to save both mother and child. Without this treatment, Aklima faces life-threatening complications, and the unborn baby may not survive, a devastating outcome for a family already struggling in hardship.
Medical history
Aklima Khatun was admitted to the hospital on September 12, 2025, with a diagnosis of Severe Oligohydramnois. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby. Both mother and newborn were discharged on September 17, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child. Prognosis
The doctor recommends an urgent cesarean section for Aklima Khatun to prevent life-threatening complications for both her and her baby. A timely C-section offers the best chance of delivering a healthy baby and protecting the mother’s life.
