Medical history
Riya Moni was admitted on 07.09.25 with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios, severe lower abdominal pain, and signs of fetal distress. Based on her critical condition, an immediate caesarean section (LUCS) was performed to prevent further complications. The surgery was successful, and both mother and baby were delivered safely. Post-operative care and monitoring were provided, and Riya responded well to the treatment. Her recovery was smooth without any major complications. She was discharged in stable condition on 10.09.25, along with her healthy newborn.
Prognosis
Riya Moni, a primigravida at 37 weeks of pregnancy, has been diagnosed with severe oligohydramnios, along with severe lower abdominal pain and hardening of the lower abdomen, which are signs of fetal distress. In her condition, an immediate lower uterine cesarean section (LUCS) is urgently required for better management. Performing the operation without delay will significantly increase the chances of the baby's survival and ensure the safety of both mother and child. However, if the cesarean section is not performed promptly, the situation may worsen and lead to intrauterine fetal death (IUFD) due to prolonged fetal distress caused by the critically low level of amniotic fluid. Timely surgical intervention is essential to prevent this life-threatening outcome.
