Rani Khatun is facing a serious health crisis in her second pregnancy. The primary issue is that her baby is in a breech position, meaning it's positioned to come out feet or bottom-first instead of head-first. This is a significant problem because it makes a vaginal birth extremely dangerous for both her and the baby. A breech presentation is a clinical term for when a baby is positioned feet-first or buttocks-first in the uterus, rather than the normal head-down position. This is considered a high-risk situation because it can lead to complications during delivery, such as the baby getting stuck, cord compression, or head entrapment. For Bonna, who has a history of a previous C-section, a breech birth would be even more dangerous, putting her at high risk of a uterine rupture, severe bleeding, or a life-threatening emergency. Her intermittent abdominal pain is a warning sign, emphasizing the urgency of her condition and the critical need for a planned C-section to ensure a safe delivery

Rani Khatun, a courageous 22-year-old mother, is over 35 weeks pregnant with her second child and dreams of a safe delivery. Her baby is in a breech position, and her previous C-section makes natural birth extremely dangerous, putting both mother and child at high risk. The family lives in a fragile home with a mud floor and fencing walls, and her husband, the only earning member, works as a day laborer earning just 6,000 BDT per month, barely enough to cover basic needs for their five-member household, including their first child and Rani’s parents-in-law. Without the urgently needed C-section, Rani and her baby face life-threatening complications such as uterine rupture, severe bleeding, or even death. Despite her resilience and dedication to her family, their extreme poverty makes affording this life-saving surgery nearly impossible.
Medical history
The patient, Rani Khatunwas admitted to City Clinic on 08th October 2025. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy 2.5 kg female baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 11th October 2025 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.
Prognosis
According to the doctor, a planned C-section is the safest option for Rani and her baby, as it avoids the severe risks associated with a vaginal breech delivery. The surgery will ensure the baby is delivered safely and protect Rani from life-threatening complications such as uterine rupture, severe bleeding, or fetal distress. If left untreated, both Rani and her baby face a high risk of serious injury, permanent complications, or even death. Although the C-section is a major procedure, it is life-saving and offers the best chance for a healthy mother and child. Successfully performing this surgery will allow them to start their lives together safely and give the family hope for the future.
