Israt Jahan is a bright and kind 10-year-old girl from a small village in Bangladesh. Her father works hard as the only earner, supporting the entire family—including Israt, her mother, and her elderly grandparents—on a very modest income. Despite their love and hopes for her education, the family can barely afford daily necessities, let alone medical treatment. Israt’s constant sore throat and blocked nose make it difficult for her to sleep, eat, or study, and without proper treatment, her condition could worsen, leading to serious breathing and health problems. Yet, she remains hopeful and dreams of becoming educated one day, bringing light to her struggling family.

In a small village in Bangladesh was born a bright and cheerful 10-year-old girl named Israt Jahan. Israt was admitted to the hospital on September 22, 2025, and, following the doctor’s advice, underwent surgery on September 27, 2025. She was discharged the next day and returned home. Her father is a very poor transport worker. Their family consists of her grandparent, parents, and three sisters. The family survives on her father’s meager income. When Ishrat was 8 years old, she began to feel pain in her throat. Her poor father initially took her to a local quack doctor for treatment. Later, in December of last year, she was seen by a qualified doctor, who identified her problems: sore throat for two years, nasal obstruction, and mouth breathing. The doctor advised surgery, but due to lack of money, her father could not proceed at that time. Eventually, they sought help from Helpster, and we provided medical assistance for her treatment. Ishrat is now healthy and recovering well. She has discharged on 27 September 2025. Her family has expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Modern Hospital and Helpster. We are also delighted to have been able to help her regain her health.

The doctor has recommended an Adenotonsillectomy under general anesthesia (GA), which is a safe and effective surgery to remove the enlarged tonsils and adenoids. With this treatment, Israt will be able to breathe easily through her nose, sleep peacefully, and eat comfortably, greatly improving her quality of life and overall health. She will also experience fewer throat infections and have more energy to focus on her studies and daily activities. However, if left untreated, her condition may worsen—leading to chronic breathing difficulties, poor sleep, reduced growth, and frequent infections that could affect her development and schooling. Early surgery can help her live a healthier and happier life.
