Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Sumaiya Akter Smrity, a bright and ambitious 16-year-old high school student, lives in a small tin-made house with her father, two siblings, and mother, surviving on her father’s modest 8,000 BDT monthly income from a small shop. Despite her calm and determined nature, Sumaiya has been struggling with severe throat pain, fever, and nasal obstruction for months, which have made eating, speaking, and studying extremely difficult. Doctors have now diagnosed her with a Peri-tonsillar Abscess that requires urgent surgery to prevent serious complications. Her family cannot afford the cost of this treatment while also managing daily expenses and her siblings’ needs. Without timely surgery, Sumaiya risks worsening infection, severe pain, and potential life-threatening complications, threatening both her health and her dream of continuing her education.
Medical history
Mst Sumaiya Akter Smrity was admitted to the hospital on September 25, 2025, with Peri-tonsillar Abscess. On the same day, doctor conducted Tonsillectomy. After two days, she was discharged on September 27, 2025, in good health. Her father came to the hospital to receive her. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jumuna Clinic and, Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Her father was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster.
Prognosis
The doctor explained that surgical removal of the tonsils (tonsillectomy) will relieve Sumaiya Akter from repeated throat infections, fever, and swallowing difficulties, allowing him to regain a normal quality of life. Successful treatment will also prevent frequent absences from work and reduce the financial burden of repeated medications. If left untreated, her condition may progress to serious complications such as peritonsillar abscess, obstructive sleep apnea, or chronic infection that can further weaken his health. Early surgery is therefore strongly advised to ensure long-term recovery and prevent life-threatening complications.
