When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Acute typhoid fever is a severe, life-threatening systemic infection caused by Salmonella Typhi bacteria, transmitted through contaminated food or water. It is characterized by a prolonged, gradually rising high fever, malaise, headache, severe abdominal pain, and either constipation or diarrhea. Severe malaria is a life-threatening medical emergency caused by malaria parasites (usually Plasmodium falciparum) leading to vital organ dysfunction, defined by symptoms like coma, seizures, severe anemia, respiratory distress, kidney failure, or shock, often resulting from delayed treatment of uncomplicated malaria. Without prompt antibiotic treatment, it can lead to intestinal perforation, hemorrhage, and death. Isa Muhammed was diagnosed with severe malaria and acute typhoid fever, presenting with high-grade fever, generalized weakness, headache, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. The conditions were likely secondary to mosquito bites and the consumption of untreated water.

Background
Isa Muhammed is a resilient 19-year-old young man from a humble background in Hausari, Yan Lilo, Nguru. Despite his health challenges, Isa is known in his community as a curious and determined individual.Isa Muhammed, a 19-year-old boy from Nguru, fell ill with high fever, weakness, headache, and abdominal discomfort that lasted for six days before he was brought to the hospital. When he arrived at the hospital, he was weak and febrile but fully conscious. On presentation at our hospital, and after further clinical evaluation, he was diagnosed with Severe Malaria and typhoid fever.
Medical history
Isa Muhammed, a 19-year-old male, was admitted to General Hospital Nguru on 10th September 2025 with symptoms of typhoid fever and malaria. He received prompt inpatient care, including IV Artesunate for malaria and IV Ceftriaxone for typhoid fever, along with supportive treatment. Thanks to the generous support of The Helpster Charity, all medical costs were fully covered. Isa responded well to treatment, with complete resolution of symptoms and a negative malaria smear by the fourth day. He was discharged in good health on 15th September 2025, with follow-up care arranged. We sincerely appreciate Helpster Charity for making Isa's recovery possible.
Prognosis
The doctor’s prognosis is positive—with proper treatment, Isa is expected to make a full recovery and return to normal life without complications. However, if left untreated, Malaria and Typhoid could have led to severe illness, organ damage, or even death, especially due to prolonged fever and infection.
