Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

Shohagi Akter is at 40 weeks of pregnancy and has been diagnosed with severe oligohydramnios, a serious condition characterized by an abnormally low volume of amniotic fluid, with ultrasound revealing the largest vertical pocket measuring less than 1 cm. This condition significantly increases the risk of complications for both mother and fetus, including impaired fetal growth, decreased fetal movements, and potential difficulties during labor. Given her history of two previous cesarean sections, timely medical intervention is essential to minimize the risk of life-threatening outcomes. Without appropriate management, both mother and newborn are at heightened risk of serious health complications.

Background

Shohagi Akter, a 40-week-pregnant mother of two, lives with her husband, a day laborer whose limited income barely sustains the family. Despite financial hardship, she remains calm, caring, and hopeful for the safe birth of her baby. She is now facing severe oligohydramnios with decreased fetal movement, a serious condition that requires urgent hospital care. Unfortunately, the family cannot afford the necessary treatment or possible cesarean section. Without timely medical intervention, both Shohagi and her unborn child are at high risk of severe complications or death.

Medical history

Shohagi Akter was admitted to the hospital on October 18, 2025, with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios. On the same day, she underwent a successful Cesarean section and delivered a healthy baby boy. Both mother and newborn were discharged in good health on October 22, 2025. Her husband came to the hospital to receive them and expressed sincere gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, and Bablu Abdullah for their medical care and support. He was especially thankful to Helpster for the financial assistance, which provided significant relief during their time of need.

Prognosis

The doctor recommends an urgent cesarean section for Shohagi Akter to prevent potentially life-threatening complications for both mother and baby. Given the severe oligohydramnios and her history of two previous cesarean deliveries, delaying intervention could lead to fetal distress, stillbirth, or serious maternal complications such as uterine rupture or placental abnormalities. A timely cesarean section offers the best chance for a safe delivery and significantly reduces the risks to both mother and child. If performed promptly, Shohagi and her newborn are expected to recover well, with a markedly lower risk of morbidity or mortality. Without this intervention, both face a critical situation with potentially irreversible consequences.
