Abir Hossain, an 8-year-old bright and gentle boy, lives in a small tin-shed house with his parents, two brothers, and elderly grandmother, all depending on his father’s tiny tea stall earning only 6,000 Taka a month. Despite his love for school and dreams of becoming a teacher, Abir has been struggling with blurred vision and headaches, which doctors have diagnosed as Retinal Vein Occlusion (RVO) in both eyes, a serious condition that could lead to permanent blindness. The urgent treatment—including Anti-VEGF injections and laser therapy—costs around 40,500 Taka, far beyond the family’s means. Without this care, Abir risks losing his eyesight, ending his education and his dream of helping other children in his community. His family, already burdened with daily survival and his grandmother’s age-related health issues, is desperately appealing for help to save their little boy’s vision and future.

These procedures will reduce retinal swelling, restore blood flow, and prevent further vision loss. With treatment, there is strong hope that Abir’s vision will improve, allowing him to continue school and live a normal childhood. However, if left untreated, the doctors warn that Abir will suffer progressive vision loss leading to blindness, which would devastate his education and independence. The treatment is urgent, but the family’s financial crisis makes it impossible for them to manage the costs on their own. With timely support, Abir’s vision—and his dreams—can be saved.
