Little Seherish Anaya Sinha, a one-month-old premature baby with a bright smile, was born alongside her twin sister Rowjatul Jannat Menahin at just 33 weeks and weighing only 1.5 kg. Her loving parents, Al Mamun, a restaurant helper, and Sweety Akter, a devoted housewife, struggle to support their four children on a very limited income while living in a small tin-roofed house with minimal facilities. Shortly after birth, Seherish developed jaundice, convulsions, and was diagnosed with Retinopathy of Prematurity in both eyes, a condition that can cause permanent blindness if not treated urgently. Her fragile eyes now require immediate Anti-VEGF injections costing BDT 18,000, an amount far beyond what the family can afford. Without timely treatment, Seherish risks losing her sight, making urgent support critical to give this brave little girl a chance at a healthy, hopeful future.

This treatment has a very high success rate when administered early and can restore and protect the baby’s vision, allowing her to grow up with normal eyesight. The doctors have emphasized that if treatment is delayed or left incomplete, the abnormal blood vessels in Seherish’s eyes may cause retinal detachment, leading to complete and permanent blindness. However, with timely medical intervention, follow-up checkups, and continuous care, Seherish can recover her sight and live a full, independent, and bright life — just like any other healthy child.
