Khadiza Begum, a gentle and hardworking young woman, has always carried the weight of her family’s struggles on her shoulders, supporting her blind father, younger brothers, and mother through daily labor. After a terrible fall, she now suffers from severe leg injuries that leave her in constant pain and unable to work, threatening the only source of income for her family. Despite her resilience and caring nature, the family cannot afford the costly medical treatment needed to save her legs, as they rely solely on her and her mother’s wages as domestic helpers. Without urgent surgery, Khadiza risks permanent disability, which would not only shatter her dreams but also plunge her already struggling family into deeper hardship. Every day without treatment brings both physical suffering and the looming threat of despair for the family who depend on her.

.Khadiza Begum was admitted to USB Specialized Hospital on 24th September 2025 following a referral from Brahmanbaria 250-Bed Government Hospital after sustaining injuries from a fall. Upon admission, she was thoroughly evaluated by the orthopedic team led by Prof. Dr. Israr Kamal. After detailed clinical and radiological assessments, the team concluded that a two-step orthopedic surgical procedure would provide the best chance for restoring her mobility and improving her quality of life. With the generous support of Helpster’s charitable services and contributions from compassionate neighbors, Khadiza’s family managed to arrange for her treatment. On 12th October 2025, she successfully underwent Ilizarov-assisted orthopedic surgery under the expert supervision of Prof. Dr. Israr Kamal. The operation was smooth and uneventful. Postoperative management included pain control, infection prevention, physiotherapy, and careful wound care to promote healing. Khadiza Begum responded well to treatment and showed steady improvement. Her pain decreased, limb alignment improved, and she gradually regained mobility and confidence. After achieving a stable postoperative condition, she was discharged on 16th October 2025 with advice for regular follow-up . With ongoing medical supervision and rehabilitation, Khadiza is on a smooth path to full recovery. Her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster and USB Specialized Hospital for their compassionate support and timely intervention, which gave Khadiza a renewed hope for a normal, active life.

If Khadiza receives timely and proper treatment, including pre-operative antibiotics followed by internal fixation and plating of both tibia and fibula and physiotherapy, she is likely to regain full mobility in her leg and resume her daily activities without long-term disability. The careful management of her fractures will prevent complications such as chronic pain, deformity, or permanent impairment. Emotional support and counseling will help her cope with trauma and maintain her mental well-being during recovery.
