Background
Anicha Begum lives with her husband, a day laborer earning only 8,000 taka a month, and their three young children in a household where every day is a struggle just to afford food and basic needs. Despite her hardships, Anicha is a gentle and hopeful woman who finds joy in cooking for her family and dreams of welcoming a healthy baby. But now, at 39 weeks of pregnancy, she is suffering from severe oligohydramnios, scar tenderness, and leaking fluid—complications that urgently require a cesarean delivery they simply cannot afford. If she does not receive treatment, both her life and the life of her unborn child are at serious risk, leaving her husband, Nur Hossain, and her children—Nipa, Abu Sayeed, and little Abu Bakkar—facing a devastating loss. Their inability to pay is not due to negligence but the harsh reality of poverty, making the situation both heartbreaking and urgent.
Medical history
Anicha Begum was admitted to the hospital on September 26, 2025, with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Both mother and newborn were discharged on October 30, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic and Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Prognosis
The doctor explains that performing a Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) will greatly improve the chances of a safe delivery for both Anicha and her baby. With this treatment, the risks of uterine rupture, fetal distress, and complications from her previous cesarean scars can be effectively avoided, allowing the child to be born healthy and the mother to recover safely. If left untreated, however, the baby may suffer from lack of oxygen due to severe oligohydramnios, which could lead to permanent damage or even loss of life. Anicha herself would also face life-threatening dangers, including the possibility of uterine rupture and severe bleeding. Timely LUCS is therefore crucial to protect both mother and child and ensure a safe outcome for the family.
