Background
Most Dulali, a 32-year-old woman known for her gentle nature and dedication to her family, is now 37 weeks pregnant and facing serious health complications. She suffers from severe anemia and her baby is in breech position, requiring an urgent caesarean section costing 35,048 BDT. Her husband earns only 6,000 BDT a month, and the family of six lives together in a crowded rented house, barely managing daily expenses. Without this treatment, both Dulali’s life and her baby’s survival are at high risk, especially with her Hepatitis B condition requiring special care. Despite her strength and resilience, the family simply cannot afford the life-saving procedure, leaving them in desperate need of support.
Medical history
Most Dulali was admitted to the hospital on 21.09.2025 due to her high-risk pregnancy complications, including breech presentation, severe anemia, and Hepatitis B. On the same day, she underwent a successful cesarean section, conducted with careful medical planning and supportive treatment. During her hospital stay, she received blood transfusions and necessary medications to manage her anemia and prevent Hepatitis B transmission to the newborn. Thanks to the timely intervention and dedicated medical care, both mother and baby responded well to the treatment. Their condition steadily improved, and they were declared healthy and stable. Dulali was officially discharged on 24.09.2025, with medical advice for follow-up care and precautions for both her and the newborn’s continued well-being.
Prognosis
Due to Most Dulali’s breech presentation, severe anemia (Hb 6.2 gm/dl), and Hepatitis B positivity, her condition is considered high-risk and demands urgent medical intervention. The breech position may lead to complications during normal delivery, increasing the likelihood of requiring a cesarean section. Severe anemia significantly compromises her ability to tolerate blood loss during childbirth, putting both her and the baby at risk. Additionally, being Hepatitis B positive raises the concern of vertical transmission to the newborn, which necessitates proper precautions during and after delivery. If left untreated, these combined conditions could result in serious maternal and neonatal complications, including preterm birth, low birth weight, fetal distress, and maternal morbidity.
