Tanjina Akter, a 25-year-old woman, and her husband, Md. Tariq, live a modest life supported by his small income from a local cosmetic shop. When doctors discovered that Tanjina was expecting quadruplets during her first pregnancy, the couple was filled with both joy and fear, knowing their financial struggles could not support such a high-risk case. At just 27 weeks of pregnancy, Tanjina went into premature labor, requiring urgent hospital care and NICU support for all four babies. Without immediate medical intervention, both she and her newborns would have faced life-threatening complications due to extreme prematurity and delivery risks. Thankfully, with the help of Helpster Volunteers, she was admitted to USB Specialized Hospital, where doctors successfully managed the delivery and saved the lives of both the mother and her four premature infants.

Tanjina Akhter, a mother expecting quadruplets, was admitted to USB Specialized Hospital on 27th September 2025 with the complaint of premature labor pain at 27 weeks of gestation. She delivered the first baby normally, followed by an emergency cesarean section on the same day (27th September 2025) to deliver the remaining three babies safely. All four newborns were extremely premature and of very low birth weight, requiring immediate transfer to the NICU for intensive care and life support. Tanjina received continuous medical management and post-operative care, and her condition gradually improved. She was discharged on 1st October 2025 with medical advice for follow-up care. Tanjina and her family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, its kind volunteers, and the USB Specialized Hospital team for their compassionate care, financial support, and dedication, which gave hope and life to her and her four premature babies.

Doctors determined that an emergency Lower Segment Cesarean Section (LSCS) was the safest and most effective treatment for Tanjina Akter’s 27+ week quadruplet pregnancy. The procedure would help safely deliver the babies, reduce maternal strain, and prevent life-threatening complications such as uterine rupture, severe bleeding, or fetal loss. With timely surgery and intensive neonatal care, both the mother and infants have a strong chance of survival and recovery. However, if left untreated, the obstructed labor and fetal distress could lead to maternal shock, stillbirths, or even maternal death due to prolonged labor and internal complications. Early surgical intervention was therefore critical to saving the lives of both the mother and her four premature babies.
