Background

Berine is a 3-year-old child attending playgroup at a local primary school. She lives with her parents, where her mother, the sole provider, runs a small business selling second-hand clothes to support their family of three. Her mother hopes that Berine will one day become a lawyer. The family resides in a modest two-roomed home, travels long distances to fetch water, and uses a pit latrine for sanitation. Two days ago, Berine developed a cough and fever that did not fully resolve. She was brought to the health facility by a Helpster beneficiary familiar with the enrollment process. On assessment, she presented with persistent fever, nasal and chest congestion, cough, and vomiting. Laboratory tests, including a malaria test, were conducted, and the doctor diagnosed her with severe pneumonia. She was promptly enrolled for treatment.

Medical history

Berine was suffering from severe pneumonia was ,given antibiotics and rehydrating fluids and admitted for 3 days later discharged when she was stable before going home her dad appreciated Helpster Charity for playing a critical role in helping her daughter to get free medical treatment.

Prognosis

Berine, diagnosed with severe pneumonia, is receiving prompt and appropriate treatment. With continued medical care, including antibiotics and supportive therapy, her condition is expected to improve steadily. If she completes the full course of treatment and follows medical advice, she is likely to make a full recovery.
