The situation is critical due to the presence of severe oligohydramnios, a dangerously low level of amniotic fluid that can lead to umbilical cord compression and fetal distress.This combination of factors places both the mother and the baby in a precarious position, requiring immediate and careful medical intervention.

Background
Jannatul Bakia, a gentle and caring 26-year-old housewife, dreams of a happy life with her husband and children. Her husband, Farhad, works as a daily wage laborer earning only 8,000 taka a month to support their five-member family, including their young daughter Abira and his elderly parents. Recently, at 37 weeks of pregnancy, Jannatul began feeling reduced fetal movement, and doctors discovered severe oligohydramnios with fetal distress, requiring an urgent cesarean section to save the baby’s life. However, with their meager income barely covering food and basic needs, the family cannot afford the high cost of surgery. Without immediate medical intervention, both Jannatul and her unborn child face the devastating risk of losing their lives, shattering the family’s hopes for a brighter future.
Medical history
After experiencing, less fetal movement for 2 days with mild lower abdominal pain, she arrived at our hospital at 11 AM in 26 September 2025 and doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed amniotic fluid is very low with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful female baby. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the patient at 10.30AM in 29 September 2025.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.
Prognosis
Based on the critical diagnosis, the doctor's prognosis is that an immediate cesarean section is a life-saving intervention for both the mother and baby. The patient's previous history of caesarean section , combined with severe oligohydramnios, indicate that the baby and mother are in immediate danger. If left untreated, the lack of amniotic fluid will likely lead to umbilical cord compression, cutting off the baby's oxygen and nutrient supply and potentially resulting in irreversible brain damage or even stillbirth. Therefore, the doctor's recommendation of an immediate C-section is a crucial, time-sensitive measure to ensure a healthy and safe delivery, providing the best possible outcome for the baby's future.
