Phidelis is the second last-born in a family of sixteen and a Grade 4 pupil at a local primary school. She lives with both parents, with her father serving as the sole breadwinner. He works as a bicycle taxi rider, earning about KSh 2,000 per month to support the large family. They live in a modest three-room mud house, fetch drinking water from a nearby stream, and use a shared pit latrine for sanitation. Despite the challenges, Phidelis is a hardworking student who wakes up early to prepare for school. She enjoys helping her parents with household chores and reading books, and she dreams of becoming a teacher one day. A few days before admission, Phidelis developed a high fever, neck pain, and difficulty swallowing, which worsened over three days. On examination, she was found to have painful swallowing and swollen submental lymph nodes, leading to her admission for inpatient care. Since her father could not afford the hospital expenses, the hospital security guard, familiar with Helpster Charity’s work at Bulondo Health Centre, referred her to the organization. Helpster Charity assessed and enrolled her, enabling her to receive the necessary treatment free of charge.

Phidelis was diagnosed with suppurative tonsillitis, treated on rehydrating fluids and antibiotics 3 days she was stable and discharged ,his father appreciated Helpster Charity Organization for helping her daughter get free medical treatment.

With the timely and appropriate medical treatment, Phidelis’s prognosis is good. Suppurative tonsillitis typically responds well to antibiotics, adequate hydration, and supportive care such as pain and fever management. Her symptoms, including difficulty swallowing and fever, are expected to gradually improve within a few days of treatment.
