Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About liver & kidneys

Sadia has been diagnosed with acute cholecystitis with cholelithiasis. This condition is characterized by acute inflammation of the gallbladder, caused by one or more gallstones. It occurs when a gallstone blocks the cystic duct, leading to a buildup of bile, increased pressure, and inflammation of the gallbladder wall. Common symptoms include severe pain in the upper right abdomen, which may radiate to the right shoulder, along with fever, nausea, and vomiting. Due to the severity of her condition, the doctor has recommended surgery.

Background

Sadia Akter Mim is a gentle and humble 17-year-old girl who dreams of living a healthy life with her family. She lives in a small tin-made house with seven family members, where both her father and husband work as day laborers, earning only about 12,000 BDT a month—barely enough to cover food and basic needs. Because of their financial struggles, her family cannot afford the costly surgery and hospital care needed for her gallbladder disease. If left untreated, the infection could spread and cause her gallbladder to rupture, putting her life at serious risk. Despite her pain, Sadia remains hopeful, praying for a chance to recover and support her family with renewed strength.

Medical history

Sadiya Akter Mim was admitted to the hospital on October 07, 2025, with severe upper abdominal pain. After medical evaluation, she was diagnosed with cholecystitis with cholelithiasis. On the same day, doctors successfully performed a cholecystectomy. She recovered well and was discharged in good health on October 09, 2025. Her mother came to the hospital to receive her at the time of discharge. The family expressed their sincere gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic, and Md. Abdullah Miah for their treatment and support. Her father was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster, which played a crucial role in her care.

Prognosis

The recommended treatment is laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is a standard surgical procedure to remove the gallbladder. With timely surgery and appropriate post-operative care, the prognosis is generally excellent, and the patient can expect a full recovery without long-term complications. Delay in treatment, however, may lead to a worsening of symptoms and increased risk of complications.
