Md. Jubayer Ahmed suffered a severe knee injury while playing football, resulting in intense pain, swelling, and difficulty standing or walking. Medical evaluation and imaging at Olympus Hospital (Pvt.) Ltd. revealed a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee, along with a medial meniscus tear and a Grade-I lateral collateral ligament (LCL) injury. These injuries compromise the stability and function of the knee joint and, if left untreated, can lead to chronic pain and long-term mobility issues. Urgent surgical intervention is required to restore knee stability, prevent permanent damage, and enable Jubayer to regain normal movement.

Background
Md. Jubayer Ahmed, an 18-year-old from Gaitoli village, lives with his parents and six siblings, whose limited income makes it impossible to afford surgery. He sustained a severe knee injury while playing football, leaving him unable to walk or attend madrasa. Without timely ACL reconstruction surgery, he risks permanent knee damage, chronic pain, and lifelong mobility limitations. The injury directly impacts his daily life, education, and future aspirations. Immediate medical intervention is essential to restore his mobility and ensure a normal, active life.
Medical history
Md. Jubayer Ahmed, an 18-year-old madrasa student from Gaitoli, Muradnagar, Cumilla, was admitted to Olympus Hospital (Pvt.) Ltd., Dhaka, on 08 October 2025 after suffering a serious right leg injury while playing football. He was diagnosed with a complete ACL tear and meniscus injury, requiring ACL reconstruction surgery, which was successfully performed the same day by Dr. Md. Shaeb Sarwar Murad. Following surgery, Jubayer received continuous wound care, medication, and physiotherapy to restore mobility. By 12 October 2025, he showed excellent improvement and was discharged in stable condition. His recovery has restored both his ability to walk and his hope to continue his madrasa education with renewed determination.
Prognosis
Doctors expect that with ACL reconstruction surgery using a hamstring autograft, Jubayer can regain full strength and mobility in his right leg. Proper post-surgery physiotherapy will help restore knee stability, allowing him to walk, run, and engage in daily activities without pain or limitation. Timely intervention will prevent permanent joint damage and reduce the risk of chronic instability or long-term mobility issues. If left untreated, Jubayer may experience lifelong difficulty walking, kneeling, or participating in sports, along with persistent pain. With early surgical care, however, he has an excellent chance of returning to a normal, active life.
