Fati Auwal is a 40-year-old, kind and hardworking woman devoted to her family. She enjoys caring for her children, cooking, and engaging with her community. Her dream is to regain good health, raise her children well, and see them succeed in life. Fati Auwal developed severe labour-like pain and fluid leakage due to ruptured membranes before reaching the hospital. Upon presentation at our hospital, and after further clinical evaluation, she was diagnosed with prolonged obstructed labor after she has been in labor and not progressing with severe Caput and fetal distress and impending complications without urgent Caesarean section.

Fati Auwal received prompt medical care for prolonged labour. She underwent a successful surgical intervention and was placed under close medical monitoring, receiving appropriate obstetric and supportive care throughout her recovery. The procedure resulted in the safe delivery of her baby. Following treatment, both mother and baby remained stable, showed good recovery, and were discharged with advice to attend routine postnatal follow-up visits and continue the prescribed care.

Fati has been in labor and it was not progressing resulting in the diagnosis of prolonged labor which was causing fetal distress and with risk of severe complications to mother and child, hence the need for emergency C/S. Doctor's explained that with timely medical treatment, Fati Auwal is expected to recover fully and safely deliver her baby. However, if left untreated, the prolonged labour and ruptured membranes could lead to serious complications such as infection, uterine rupture, or loss of the baby and risk to the mother’s life.
