Background
Sultana Akter, a 32-year-old mother, is 31 weeks pregnant with her second child and faces a high-risk pregnancy due to a breech presentation and a previous Cesarean section. Her husband, Sohag Ali, is a day laborer who earns only enough to cover basic needs for their small family, which includes their 4-year-old child and elderly parents. Despite her gentle and caring nature, Sultana now lives in constant worry about her baby’s safety, as the family cannot afford the cost of the urgent Cesarean operation she needs. Without timely surgery, both mother and baby could face life-threatening complications, such as uterine rupture or stillbirth. Having heard about Helpster’s support from their neighbor Dorimon Ali, the family now holds hope that timely assistance will help Sultana deliver safely and bring her child into the world.
Medical history
The patient,Sultana Akter was admitted to City Clinic on 28th December 2025. A successful cesarean section was performed the same day, and she delivered a healthy 3 kg female baby. Both mother and child progressed well and were discharged on 01th January 2025 with proper postnatal advice. The patient and her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, the dedicated volunteers, and City Clinic for their kind support and care throughout the treatment.
Prognosis
A Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) is the safest and most effective treatment for Sultana Akter, considering her breech presentation, 29-week pregnancy, and history of previous Cesarean section. This surgical intervention will help prevent serious complications such as uterine rupture, cord prolapse, or fetal distress, ensuring the safety of both mother and child. With timely surgery, Sultana is expected to have a stable recovery and deliver a healthy baby. However, if left untreated or if natural labor occurs, both maternal and fetal lives could be at significant risk, potentially leading to severe bleeding, preterm delivery, or stillbirth. Early LUCS offers the best chance for a safe outcome and long-term wellbeing for both.
