Seventeen-year-old Mohammad Tasin Shorif from Santahar, Bogura now lives with his widowed mother after losing his father in the same tragic road accident that left him severely injured. His mother once worked in agriculture, but the family was forced to sell their only land to cover his emergency surgeries, leaving them without any stable income and dependent on the support of relatives. Despite these overwhelming challenges, Tasin remains a bright, determined boy who dreams of becoming a computer engineer and continues to learn about technology whenever his health allows. His condition has worsened with persistent infections, high-grade fever, and ongoing complications from the trephine colostomy he received after the accident. Without urgent treatment, the infection could spread dangerously, putting his life at serious risk and deepening the heartbreak of a mother who has already lost her husband; their family’s future—and Tasin’s hopes of rebuilding his life—now relies on medical care they can no longer afford.

The patient Mohammad Tasin Shorif, aged 17, was admitted to Al-Manar Hospital Ltd. on 12th October 2025 at 3:29 PM with complications from a previous road traffic accident that had left him with a Trephine Colostomy. After evaluation by the General and Plastic Surgery team, he underwent a Colostomy Closure operation on 20th October 2025 to restore normal bowel function. Following the surgery, Tasin showed steady improvement, received post-operative wound care and medication, and gradually regained strength over the following days. He was discharged on 6th November 2025 in stable condition with medical advice for continued recovery at home. Both Tasin and his mother expressed heartfelt gratitude to Helpster Charity for supporting them throughout his treatment and healing journey.

The doctors believe that with a colostomy reversal operation, along with regular wound dressing, strong antibiotic coverage, and proper nutritional support, the patient has a strong chance of returning to a healthier, more functional life. Successful treatment would relieve him from the ongoing infection, restore normal bowel function, and greatly improve his mobility and overall well-being. However, if he remains untreated, the stoma infection could worsen, potentially spreading to deeper tissues or even leading to life-threatening sepsis. Continued poor nutrition and unresolved infection would severely weaken his body, making recovery much more difficult. Timely medical care is therefore essential to prevent serious complications and give him the chance to rebuild his future.
