Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections

Saiz has been diagnosed with Deviated Nasal Septum (DNS) with Hypertrophy of Inferior Turbinate (HIT) and Mucous Retention Cyst in the Left Maxilla. A Deviated Nasal Septum (DNS) occurs when the thin wall separating the two sides of the nose is displaced, making one airway narrower and causing chronic breathing difficulty. Hypertrophy of the Inferior Turbinate (HIT) means the soft tissue inside the nose becomes enlarged, further blocking airflow and worsening congestion. The mucous retention cyst in the left maxilla is a fluid-filled sac that forms when a gland becomes blocked, leading to facial pressure, headaches, and discomfort. When these three conditions occur together, they severely restrict normal breathing, disrupt sleep, trigger frequent infections, and significantly affect daily activities and overall quality of life.

Background

Md. Saiz Uddin is a humble and soft-spoken 17-year-old boy whose dreams of continuing his studies are slowly slipping away because of his worsening nasal condition. His father, a hawker earning only around 12,000 BDT a month, struggles to feed their family of five and has no ability to afford the costly surgery Saiz urgently needs. Despite his quiet strength and determination, Saiz’s condition has become severe—he struggles to breathe, suffers constant headaches, and often cannot sleep, study, or help at home. Without timely surgery, doctors warn that the obstruction may lead to chronic infections, worsening breathing problems, and long-term damage that could drastically affect his health and future. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a volunteer at Dhaka Medical College, offering them a glimmer of hope in a situation they can no longer handle alone.

Medical history

The patient Saiz Uddin admitted at Al-Manar Hospital as Diagnosed case of DNS with HUT with Mucous Retention Cyst (Left Maxilla) on 19th October 2025 and the patient was operated on 20th October 2025 and the patient was discharged with Advice on 21st October 2025. The patient and the guardian was grateful to Helpster Charity for the support.

Prognosis

According to the doctor, Septoplasty combined with Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) is urgently needed to restore Saiz’s ability to breathe normally and relieve the severe pressure and headaches caused by his condition. The procedure will open his blocked nasal passages, remove the cyst, and significantly improve his sleep, concentration, and overall quality of life. If left untreated, the condition may become life-threatening due to the risk of sleep apnea, which can cause dangerous pauses in breathing during sleep, and the possibility of facial palsy from prolonged sinus pressure and infection. He may also face chronic infections and long-term damage that could severely impact his daily functioning. With timely surgery, the doctor believes Saiz can return to a healthy, active life and continue his education without the constant burden of illness.
