Mst. Tani Khatun is currently 39 weeks pregnant and has been diagnosed with severe oligohydramnios, a serious condition where the amniotic fluid surrounding the baby is critically low. Amniotic fluid is essential for protecting the baby and maintaining proper oxygen supply, and its severe reduction can place the baby under significant stress. Background
Mst. Tani Khatun is a 20-year-old housewife from a five-member family living in extreme financial hardship, with a total monthly income of only 5,000 Taka, earned mainly by her brother-in-law, who works as a farmer. Her husband, Md. Jubayer Hossain, is a 23-year-old student with no income, while her mother-in-law is unemployed and her sister-in-law is still a child, leaving the family unable to afford emergency medical treatment. Tani is a responsible and caring young woman who is eagerly awaiting the birth of her first child and finds comfort in household work and cooking despite the family’s struggles. She learned about Helpster Charity through a poster and contacted Bablu Abdullah seeking urgent support. Without immediate treatment for severe oligohydramnios and fetal distress, her unborn baby faces a high risk of death, and Tani herself is at risk of serious, life-threatening complications.
Medical history
Mst Tani Khatun was admitted to the hospital on October 19, 2025, with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios and Fetal distress. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Both mother and newborn were discharged on October 23, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic and Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Her husband was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster.
Prognosis
Doctors have advised that LUCS (Lower Uterine Caesarean Section) is the only safe and immediate treatment option for Mst. Tani Khatun due to severe oligohydramnios and fetal distress. With timely LUCS, the baby can be delivered safely, significantly reducing the risk of oxygen deprivation and preventing permanent injury or death of the child. Early intervention will also protect the mother from life-threatening complications such as infection, uterine rupture, or severe bleeding. If the condition is left untreated or delivery is delayed, the baby may suffer from stillbirth or irreversible brain damage, and the mother’s life could also be at serious risk. Therefore, urgent surgical intervention is critical to save both the mother and the child.
