Background
Mst. Josna Begum, a kind and hardworking mother of two, lives with her husband, Md. Azizul Haque, a poor farmer earning barely 5,000 Taka a month, and their 13-year-old son, Toufiq. Despite their daily struggles, Josna has always put her family first, sacrificing her own comfort for their well-being. Now, at 39 weeks pregnant and suffering from severe oligohydramnios, she urgently needs a C-section to save her and her baby’s lives. Without the surgery, both mother and child face life-threatening complications. The family, already burdened by debt from her previous operation, is heartbroken that poverty stands between them and a safe delivery.
Medical history
Mst Josna Begum was admitted to the hospital on October 21, 2025, with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Both mother and newborn were discharged on October 25, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic and Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Prognosis
The doctor has advised a Lower Uterine Segment Cesarean Section (LUCS) as the safest treatment option for Mst. Josna Begum. With this procedure, both the mother and baby have an excellent chance of survival and recovery, preventing complications from her severe oligohydramnios and previous cesarean history. The surgery will help ensure a safe delivery and protect the baby from distress caused by the lack of amniotic fluid. However, if left untreated or delayed, the baby could suffer from oxygen deprivation, growth restriction, or even stillbirth, while Josna herself could face life-threatening labor complications. Timely LUCS is therefore vital to save both lives and ensure a healthy future for mother and child.
