Eti Moni, a 2-year-3-month-old female child, was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of meningitis, a serious infection affecting the protective membranes of the brain and spinal cord. She presented with symptoms such as high fever, irritability, vomiting, and lethargy, indicating inflammation of the central nervous system. Immediate medical attention was required to prevent complications such as seizures or neurological damage. With timely antibiotic therapy and supportive care, her condition began to stabilize, offering hope for a full recovery.

Background
Two-year-old Eti Moni has been suffering from meningitis with persistent fever and frequent convulsions, requiring urgent medical care. Her mother, who sells cigarettes on the streets, cannot afford the cost of medicines and essential hospital tests. The family’s financial hardship made it impossible to continue treatment in the government hospital. Upon learning about Helpster Charity from the attending doctor, her mother immediately reached out to the volunteers for assistance. The family urgently needs support for antibiotics, diagnostic investigations, and anti-convulsant medications to continue Eti’s treatment and save her life.
Medical history
The patient was admitted on 20th October 2025 with the complaints of fever and convulsion . Then the patient received treatment for 10 days and on 30th October 2025 the patient was discharged with advice. After receiving Helpster’s support, the child was admitted to the hospital and received proper medical care, including antibiotics and anti-convulsant treatment. The continuous care and timely medication helped control her fever and seizures effectively. Within a few days, her condition improved, and she began eating and responding normally. The doctors were satisfied with her progress and allowed her to return home with follow-up advice. The family expressed heartfelt gratitude for the assistance, which made the treatment possible. The child is now stable and showing steady signs of recovery.
Prognosis
With continued medical care under Pediatric Neurologist in a specialized care hospital, proper medication, and regular follow-up, Eti Moni is expected to make a full recovery and regain her normal health and development. The ongoing antibiotic and anti-convulsant treatment will help control the infection and prevent further seizures, protecting her brain from lasting damage. Regular investigations such as EEG and CT scans will ensure early detection of any complications and guide necessary adjustments in treatment. If left untreated, meningitis could lead to life-threatening complications, including brain injury, hearing loss, or persistent neurological problems.
