Ruth C., 1

Ruth is the third-born in a family of seven. Her parents both work as casual laborers, earning at most Ksh 100 per day, which is barely enough to provide even one meal for the family. They live in a rural area where they rely on stream water for domestic use and share a pit latrine with their neighbors. Ruth was brought to the health facility by her mother with complaints of convulsions, difficulty in breathing, persistent vomiting, and snoring. After examination and laboratory tests, she was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. She was admitted for further evaluation, treatment, and management.

She was given: i.v xpen, i.v genta,i.v hydrocortisone,i.v ringers lactate,i.v 5% d among other drugs for treatment and management. She heard about helpster charity from his Neighbour who was assisted one time, the child's father seeks help from helpster charity because he has been going through a lot of hardship when trying to raise hospital bills. The mother had gone home to take care of other children and to look for food for them while the father is taking care for the sick child in the hospital. After a while the child recovered and discharged on a stable condition.

With timely admission and appropriate treatment for severe pneumonia, Ruth’s condition has significantly improved. Her breathing has stabilized, the fever has subsided, and she is no longer experiencing convulsions or vomiting. Continued monitoring and adherence to medical advice will be important to ensure full recovery and prevent recurrence. Her overall prognosis is good.
