Background
Rani is a gentle and responsible 21-year-old woman whose shy nature is balanced by her deep kindness and sincerity, often expressed through her love for sewing clothes for others. She and her husband struggle to support a large family—including their young child, a teenager, three other adults, and her ill father-in-law—on his small van-driver income of only 6,000 taka, leaving them unable to afford essential medical treatment. Now 35 weeks pregnant with a breech baby and experiencing severe pain, decreased fetal movement, and abdominal hardening, Rani faces a dangerous situation that could lead to obstructed labor, fetal distress, or even losing the baby if left untreated. Without timely intervention, both her life and her unborn child could be at serious risk. Medical history
Mst. Rani was admitted on 05.10.2025 with severe lower abdominal pain, low fetal movement, abdominal discomfort, and hardening of the lower abdomen. She was diagnosed with a 35 weeks 1 day pregnancy with a breech presentation, which required immediate surgical intervention. On the same day, she underwent a successful cesarean section to ensure the safety of both her and her baby. Following the operation, Rani received careful medical treatment and attentive nursing care, which helped her recover steadily. Her condition improved well under supervision, and after a few days of monitoring and support, she was discharged on 08.10.2025, healthy and stable, ready to continue her normal life with her newborn.
Prognosis
The doctor has recommended a Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) under spinal anesthesia (SAB) as the safest treatment for Mst. Rani. Due to the breech presentation and her severe lower abdominal pain, low fetal movement, abdominal discomfort, and tense abdomen, normal vaginal delivery is highly risky. Timely LUCS is essential to prevent serious complications, including intrauterine fetal death, fetal distress, or injury during labor. With prompt surgical intervention, both mother and baby have the best chance of a safe delivery and a healthy start to life, providing hope and security for their future.
