Background
Lovely Begum, a 32-year-old mother, is 35 weeks and 4 days pregnant with her third child after two previous caesarean sections. She lives with her husband, two children, and elderly in-laws, and the family survives on her husband’s income of only 5,000 taka per month as an auto-rickshaw driver, which makes urgent medical care unaffordable. She has been diagnosed with severe oligohydramnios, placing both her and her unborn baby at high risk without timely treatment. Without proper intervention, serious complications during delivery, including risk to life, may occur. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical camp and is seeking support to ensure a safe outcome for both mother and child.
Medical history
Lovely Begum came with a nine-month pregnancy (third gravida) and was diagnosed with severe oligohydramnios. She was admitted on 10.11.2025, and due to her critical condition, a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section was successfully performed on the same day to ensure the safety of both mother and baby. After the operation, she received proper post-operative treatment, including essential medications, continuous monitoring, and attentive nursing care. Her recovery progressed smoothly, and both she and her baby remained stable throughout her stay. Lovely Begum was discharged on 13.11.2025 in good condition, with both mother and baby safe and healthy.
Prognosis
The doctor has recommended a Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) under spinal anesthesia (SAB) as the safest treatment option for Laiju. This procedure is essential to prevent complications caused by severe oligohydramnios, such as fetal distress, oxygen deprivation, or even stillbirth. If a cesarean section is not performed immediately, the pregnancy could lead to intrauterine fetal death (IUFD). However, a timely Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) offers the best chance for the baby’s safe delivery.
