Background
Most Chaina Akter is a kind and hardworking housewife who loves cooking and dreams of giving birth to a healthy baby, despite living a life of hardship with her husband Md. Abdul Malek, a day laborer with an unstable income of only about 6,000 BDT per month, which is barely enough to support their family of three. Their tin-made house, lack of land, and absence of any savings or assets make it impossible for them to afford costly medical treatment on their own while also caring for their eight-year-old daughter, Mithila Akter, who is a student. Now at 39 weeks of pregnancy, Chaina Akter has developed serious complications, including oligohydramnios, causing pain, watery discharge, and reduced fetal movement. Without timely treatment, both the mother and her unborn baby are at risk of severe complications, including fetal distress or loss of life. Despite their strong hope and courage, the family’s extreme financial limitations leave them fully dependent on support to ensure the safe delivery of the baby and the survival of the mother.
Medical history
Most Chaina Akter was admitted to the hospital on October 23, 2025, with a diagnosis of less fetal movement and severe oligohydramnios. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Both mother and newborn were discharged on October 28, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic and Md Abdullah Miah for their treatment and support. Prognosis
The doctor recommends an urgent cesarean section for Chaina Akter to prevent life-threatening complications for both her and her baby. With severe oligohydramnios could result in fetal distress, stillbirth, or serious maternal complications such as uterine rupture or placental issues. A timely C-section offers the best chance of delivering a healthy baby and protecting the mother’s life.
