Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About gynecology

Aklima Khatun is 37 weeks of single viable pregnancy with Oligohydramnios while her last delivery was C-section. Oligohydramnios is a serious pregnancy complication characterized by an unusually low amount of amniotic fluid, defined by ultrasound measurements of the largest pocket of amniotic fluid being less than 1 cm. Oligohydramnios in general is when the amniotic fluid volume is less than expected for the gestational age, with severe cases indicating a particularly low amount.

Background

Aklima Khatun, a gentle and hardworking 24-year-old mother, lives with her husband, young son, and elderly in-laws in a small household surviving on just 7,000 taka a month from her husband's day-labor work. Now 38 weeks pregnant and experiencing continuous watery discharge for two days, she is facing a dangerous pregnancy complication that requires urgent surgical intervention, especially because she previously delivered by C-section. Their poverty is so severe that even her last delivery had to be paid for with money borrowed from a neighbor, leaving the family still in debt. Without immediate treatment, Aklima risks life-threatening infection, fetal distress, or complications that could endanger both her and her unborn baby. Despite their struggles, the family is hopeful that Helpster’s support will give Aklima and her child a safe chance at life.

Medical history

Mst Aklima Khatun was admitted to the hospital on June 12, 2025, with a diagnosis of severe Oligohydramnois. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby. Both mother and newborn were discharged on June 15, 2025, in good health. Her husband and mother came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Mother Clinic and, Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Her husband was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster.

Prognosis

The doctor recommends an urgent cesarean section for Aklima Khatun to prevent life-threatening complications for both her and her baby. With severe oligohydramnios could result in fetal distress, stillbirth, or serious maternal complications such as uterine rupture or placental issues. A timely C-section offers the best chance of delivering a healthy baby and protecting the mother’s life. If the procedure is performed promptly Aklima Khatun and her child are expected to recover well, with significantly reduced risks of morbidity or mortality. Without this intervention, both mother and baby face a critical situation that could have irreversible consequences.
