Md Sadiqur R., 11

Md. Sadiqur Rahman Raju is an 11-year-old Madrasa student who lives with his parents and two younger brothers in a low-income family supported solely by his father, Md. Abul Hossain, a day laborer earning about 7,000 taka per month. Gentle, studious, and full of hope, Sadiqur dreams of completing his education, but months of severe throat pain, fever, and difficulty swallowing have forced him to miss classes and suffer in silence. Doctors have advised surgery, yet the family cannot afford the cost while also meeting the basic needs of their household, including caring for their younger children. If left untreated, his condition could worsen, leading to serious infections, breathing difficulties, or long-term damage that may permanently disrupt his education and health. After explaining their hardship to ENT specialist Dr. Sajjadur Rahman, the family learned about Helpster and, with guidance from Helpster volunteer Bablu Abdullah, reached out in hope of saving their son’s future.

Md Sadiqur Rahman Raju was admitted to the hospital on October 24, 2025, with a diagnosis of Peritonsillar Abscess. On the same day, a Tonsillectomy was performed by the attending physician. The procedure was successful, and the patient showed satisfactory recovery. After two days of post-operative observation and care, he was discharged on October 25, 2025, in good health and stable condition. Upon discharge, his parents came to the hospital to receive him. The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Helpster, Mother Clinic, and Bablu Abdullah for their dedicated treatment and support. His father extended special thanks to Helpster for providing financial assistance during the treatment process.

Surgical removal of the Peri-tonsillar abscess (tonsillectomy) will relieve Md Sadiqur Rahman Raju from repeated throat infections, fever, and swallowing difficulties, allowing him to regain a normal quality of life. Successful treatment will also prevent frequent absences from study and reduce the financial burden of repeated medications. If left untreated, his condition may progress to serious complications such as peritonsillar abscess, obstructive sleep apnea, or chronic infection that can further weaken his health. Early surgery is therefore strongly advised to ensure long-term recovery and prevent life-threatening complications.
