Mst. Sultana, a 37-week 4-day pregnant woman in her second pregnancy, is carrying a single live fetus but has been diagnosed with a breech presentation through an ultrasound test. In this condition, the baby is positioned with its feet or buttocks facing downward instead of the head, which can make normal delivery risky. Breech presentation increases the chances of complications during labor, including delivery obstruction and fetal distress.

Background
Mst. Sultana is a caring and hardworking woman who, despite being displaced and without a permanent home, remains devoted to her family, including her young child and her elderly parents-in-law. Her husband earns only 5,000 taka per month as a day laborer, which is barely enough to meet daily needs, leaving the family of six unable to afford medical expenses. Now in the late stage of her second pregnancy, with a history of previous surgical delivery, she has developed abdominal pain and discomfort, and medical examination showed that the baby is not in a normal position for birth. Despite these hardships, Sultana remains hopeful and focused on raising her children with good values. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a leaflet and sought support, as without timely medical treatment, serious complications could threaten the lives of both the mother and the unborn baby.
Medical history
Mst. Sultana, who was 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant, was admitted on 5.10.2025 with lower abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort, fatigue, and hardening of the abdomen. She was diagnosed with breech presentation, which made normal vaginal delivery unsafe for both her and her baby. She underwent a successful operation, and both mother and baby remained safe. During her hospital stay, she received careful medical management and continuous nursing care, including monitoring, medication, and support for early recovery. With timely intervention and attentive care, her condition improved steadily. Both she and her baby responded well to treatment, and she was able to recover comfortably. Mst. Sultana was discharged on 8.10.2025 in stable and healthy condition, along with her baby.
Prognosis
The doctor has recommended a Lower Segment Cesarean Section (LSCS) under spinal anesthesia (SAB) as the safest treatment option for Mst. Sultana. This procedure is necessary to prevent complications associated with breech presentation, such as delivery obstruction, fetal distress, or injury during childbirth. With timely surgical intervention, both mother and baby have an excellent chance of a safe delivery and healthy recovery. However, without surgical management, normal delivery could become dangerous and life-threatening for both.
