Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About acute appendicitis
Acute appendicitis is an acute inflammatory condition of the vermiform appendix, commonly resulting from luminal obstruction by fecaliths, lymphoid hyperplasia, or, rarely, parasites or foreign bodies. It leads to bacterial overgrowth, mucosal ischemia, and localized infection. The condition typically presents with abdominal pain that begins around the umbilicus and later localizes to the right lower quadrant, accompanied by fever, nausea, vomiting, and anorexia. Physical signs include tenderness at McBurney’s point, rebound tenderness, and guarding.

Background
Naomi a 21 years old female has finished her secondary education about 3 years ago and hoping to further her education but due to parent's being unable to get funds or support, the young lady started to being a restaurant sales girl, she is doing well. A 21year old restaurant sales girl, brought in by her colleague on account of severe right sided pain, which was severe enough to prevent her from walking and standing. Pain started about 3 months ago and was managed with analgesics but became severe a few hours prior to presentation. The patient was said to be unable to sit up and stand erect without pain. Upon presentation and after further evaluation, she was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and was booked for emergency surgery.
Medical history
Naomi a 21year old female was admitted in our facility on the 27th of October 2025 with complaints of severe pain in the right iliac fossa and inability to walk and stand. She demonstrated classical signs of acute appendicitis and was scheduled for surgery. Surgery was done immediately and a 12cm inflamed appendix was removed. She was admitted to recuperate in the ward and was discharged on the 3rd day to be reviewed in the clinic after one week. The entire family are so happy and extend gratitude to Helpster Charity and team.
Prognosis
he prognosis of acute appendicitis is excellent when recognized early and managed promptly with appendectomy and appropriate antibiotic therapy. Most patients recover completely within days, with minimal postoperative complications. However, if diagnosis or treatment is delayed, the inflamed appendix may perforate, leading to peritonitis, abscess formation, or sepsis, which can prolong hospitalization and recovery. With modern surgical techniques and early intervention, mortality is very low (<1%), and recurrence after removal is rare. Good postoperative care and infection control ensure full recovery and return to normal activity within a short period.
