Background
Most. Akhi Akter, a gentle and hardworking 28-year-old housewife, lives with her husband, a day laborer who earns only 200–250 BDT a day, barely enough to support their family and their 13-year-old daughter. When she became more than 9 months pregnant and developed severe lower abdominal pain with watery discharge, her family rushed her to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with severe oligohydramnios, a life-threatening condition for both mother and baby. Because of their extremely low income and difficult living conditions in a tin house with a soil floor, they cannot afford the urgent caesarean section required to save her and the baby. Without this treatment, she risks complications such as fetal distress, stillbirth, or life-threatening labor complications. Despite their hardship, Akhi remains hopeful, wishing only for a safe delivery and a healthy future for her family.
Medical history
Most Akhi Aktar was admitted to the hospital on November 02, 2025, with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios and post dated. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Both mother and newborn were discharged on November 06, 2025, in good health. Her husband came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic and Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Prognosis
The doctor has recommended a Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) as the safest and most effective treatment to protect both Most. Akhi Akter and her baby. With this procedure, the baby can be delivered safely despite the severe oligohydramnios, which otherwise poses life-threatening risks such as fetal distress or stillbirth. A timely LUCS will prevent dangerous complications during labor and ensure the baby receives the necessary care immediately after birth. If left untreated, the critically low amniotic fluid could lead to oxygen deprivation, birth injury, or loss of the baby, and it may also endanger the mother’s life during delivery. With proper treatment, both mother and child have a strong chance of a safe and healthy outcome.
