Most Alpona Khatun is 37 weeks of single viable pregnancy with severe Oligohydramnios with previous history of caesarean section. Sever oligohydramnios is a serious pregnancy complication characterized by an unusually low amount of amniotic fluid, defined by ultrasound measurements of the largest pocket of amniotic fluid being less than 1 cm. Oligohydramnios in general is when the amniotic fluid volume is less than expected for the gestational age, with severe cases indicating a particularly low amount.

Background
Most Alpona Khatun is a young, caring housewife living with her extended family of seven, including her husband Md. Abdul Mannan, a day laborer, their 3-year-old son Abdullah, and elderly in-laws, all dependent on a modest monthly income of 12,000 taka. Despite ongoing financial hardship, Alpona remains hopeful and gentle in nature, dreaming of welcoming a healthy baby while managing household responsibilities she enjoys, especially cooking. Now at 37 weeks of pregnancy with a previous Caesarean history, she has developed serious complications such as watery vaginal discharge, abdominal pain, scar tenderness, and oligohydramnios, placing both her and her unborn child at high risk. Without urgent surgical treatment, the condition could lead to fetal distress, infection, uterine rupture, or even loss of life for mother or baby. Unable to afford the cost of care, the family sought help after seeing a Helpster poster at a government hospital, and with the support of Helpster volunteer Bablu Abdullah, they reached out as their last hope for a safe delivery.
Medical history
Most Alpona Khatun was admitted to the hospital on November 2, 2025, with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Both mother and newborn were discharged on November 06, 2025, in good health. Her husband and mother came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic and Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Her husband was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster.
Prognosis
Doctors have recommended LUCS as the safest and most effective treatment for Most Alpona Khatun given her previous Caesarean section and current complications, including oligohydramnios and signs of membrane rupture. With timely surgical delivery, the baby has a strong chance of being born healthy, and the risk of serious maternal complications such as uterine rupture or infection will be significantly reduced. Successful LUCS will allow Alpona to recover safely and continue caring for her young child and extended family. However, if the procedure is delayed or not performed, the baby may suffer from severe fetal distress, infection, or stillbirth. In addition, Alpona’s life could be endangered due to hemorrhage or uterine rupture, making immediate intervention critical.
