Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?

When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Seven-year-old Md. Tahmid, a polite and bright boy from a landless, extremely poor family of five members, suddenly fell seriously ill when a burst appendix caused a dangerous abscess. His father, Md. Somer Ali, earns only 5,000 BDT as a guard, while his mother is a housewife, and his elder sister and young uncle are both students, leaving no way for the family to afford the urgent surgery he needs. Despite Tahmid’s cheerful nature, love for school, and dream of becoming a doctor one day, the family’s poverty and their remote char-area location make treatment impossible without help. If he doesn’t receive immediate medical care, the infection could spread rapidly and become life-threatening, putting this promising child’s future at risk. Their desperate financial situation and Tahmid’s worsening condition make support urgently necessary.

Medical history

Md Tahmid was admitted to the hospital on October 30, 2025, with right sideded lower abdominal pain. After diagnoses, he was found burst appendicitis with appendicular abscess.. On the same day, doctor conducted Appendicectomy. After five days, he was discharged on November, 2025, in good health. His father and and uncle came to the hospital to receive him. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Good Health Hospital, Abu Hanif and, Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. His father was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster.

Prognosis

The doctor explained that an appendicectomy is essential for saving the child’s life, as removing the infected appendix will stop the spread of infection and allow the body to heal properly. With timely surgery, the child is expected to recover fully and return to normal daily activities, including school and play. However, if the condition is left untreated, the infection can rapidly spread throughout the abdomen, causing severe sepsis, organ failure, and even death. The doctor emphasized that delaying treatment puts the child at extreme risk and could permanently damage his health. Successful surgery, on the other hand, gives the child a strong chance at a healthy and active future.
