Why is treatment sometimes done earlier than the payment?
When a case is urgent and vital, hospitals often proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalisation of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts. That’s why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

About infections
Tonsillitis: Inflammation of the tonsils, causing sore throat, fever, and difficulty swallowing, typically due to viral or bacterial infections. Nasopharyngitis: Inflammation of the bronchial tubes, causing cough, mucus production, and breathing difficulties, often due to viral or bacterial infections, or exposure to pollutants. Both conditions require rest, hydration, and medical treatment if symptoms persist.

Background
Mercy Mutheu is a 7-year-old girl living in a children's home. She is an orphan who enjoys films and listening to music in her free time. The children’s home relies entirely on well-wishers for food and daily needs. Mercy was brought to the home at the age of five by city police who found her on the streets. She is a cheerful child with big dreams of becoming a pilot. The Children’s Home was introduced to Helpster Charity through a site visit by Rheemah Medical Practitioners and later by Vincent, a Helpster volunteer. Mercy remained healthy and active until about a week ago, when she developed fever, headache, a runny nose, and cough. A volunteer at the home, Sarah, brought her to Rheemah Hospital for medical care. She was reviewed by the medical officer and diagnosed with acute tonsillitis and acute nasopharyngitis. She received prompt treatment.
Medical history
Upon arrival at Rheemah Hospital, Mercy presented with a history of high-grade fever, productive cough, painful swallowing, nasal congestion, and refusal to feed. She was thoroughly assessed by the Medical Officer in charge, and following clinical evaluation and appropriate investigations, she was diagnosed with acute tonsillitis and acute nasopharyngitis. Prompt treatment was initiated, including IV Ceftriaxone 1 g, Brustan syrup, Amoxil Forte 250, Piriton expectorant, and Betadine mouthwash. Helpster Charity covered her medical expenses, facilitating timely and effective management. By the time she returned for her third injection, she had shown marked clinical improvement.
Prognosis
Mercy’s prognosis is very good. Acute tonsillitis and acute nasopharyngitis generally respond well to early and appropriate treatment, which she received promptly. Since she was diagnosed early, treated, and discharged in stable condition, the likelihood of full recovery is high.
