Mst Afroja Khatun is 38 weeks of single viable pregnancy with severe Oligohydramnios. Her last two delivery was C-section and less fetal movement while previous pregnancy was IUD. Severe oligohydramnios is a serious pregnancy complication characterized by an unusually low amount of amniotic fluid, defined by ultrasound measurements of the largest pocket of amniotic fluid being less than 1 cm. Severe oligohydramnios in general is when the amniotic fluid volume is less than expected for the gestational age, with severe cases indicating a particularly low amount.

Background
Mst. Afroja Khatun, a gentle 26-year-old homemaker who enjoys cooking for her family, is now 38 weeks pregnant and facing serious complications, including oligohydramnios and fetal distress, after experiencing reduced fetal movement and watery discharge. Her husband, Md. Atowar Rahman, earns only 7,000 taka a month as a day laborer, barely supporting their son and elderly in-laws, leaving no possibility of paying for another life-saving C-section—especially after taking loans to cover her previous two surgeries. With her last pregnancy ending in an intrauterine death, Afroja is terrified of losing another baby, and without urgent treatment, both she and her unborn child face the risk of severe infection, labor complications, or even death. Despite their struggles, the family remains hopeful, and a staff member at Jamuna Clinic informed them about Helpster’s support for poor patients. Reaching out to volunteer Bablu Abdullah has given them a glimmer of hope for a safe delivery and a chance to welcome their long-awaited healthy baby into the world.
Medical history
Mst Afroja Khatun was admitted to the hospital on November 08, 2025, with a diagnosis of severe oligohydramnios. On the same day, she had a successful cesarean section and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Both mother and newborn were discharged on November 12, 2025, in good health. Her husband and sister came to the hospital to receive her and their child. The family expressed their gratitude to Helpster, Jamuna Clinic and Bablu Abdullah for their treatment and support. Her husband was especially thankful for the financial assistance provided by Helpster.
Prognosis
The doctor recommends an urgent cesarean section for Mst Afroja Khatun to prevent life-threatening complications for both her and her baby. With severe oligohydramnios, Less fetal movement and two previous C-section delivery could result in fetal distress, stillbirth, or serious maternal complications such as uterine rupture or placental issues. A timely C-section offers the best chance of delivering a healthy baby and protecting the mother’s life. If the procedure is performed promptly Mst Afroja Khatun and her child are expected to recover well, with significantly reduced risks of morbidity or mortality. Without this intervention, both mother and baby face a critical situation that could have irreversible consequences.
