Background
Mst. Rubina is a kind, devoted housewife and mother who struggles every day to care for her three young daughters—Suborna, Sohana, and Aroshi—and her elderly mother-in-law, Khorsheda, on her husband Md. Sumon’s very small income of only 6,000 BDT per month as an auto driver. During her fourth pregnancy, she developed alarming complications at 37 weeks, including continuous watery vaginal discharge, lower abdominal pain, and reduced fetal movement, and an ultrasound at our hospital confirmed severe oligohydramnios, requiring an immediate caesarean section. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a medical camp, as they had no savings and were already struggling to manage daily food and basic medical expenses. Without this lifesaving surgery, Rubina and her unborn baby face a high risk of serious complications, even death. For this vulnerable family, urgent support is the only way to save two lives and prevent devastating loss.
Medical history
Mst. Rubina Khatun came to the hospital at 37 weeks and 5 days of pregnancy with severe oligohydramnios and was admitted on 18.11.2025. Her LUCS operation was performed on the same day, and the procedure was successful, ensuring the safe delivery of her baby. After the surgery, she received proper medical management, continuous monitoring, and attentive nursing care, which helped her recover smoothly. Both mother and baby remained in stable and secure condition throughout their hospital stay. After confirming her improved health and recovery, she was discharged on 21.11.2025 in safe and well condition.
Prognosis
The recommended treatment for this case is a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS), which is the safest option to deliver the baby immediately and prevent further complications. This procedure will help relieve fetal distress and reduce the risks caused by severe oligohydramnios, ensuring the best possible outcome for both mother and baby. With timely surgery, the baby is expected to recover well and lead a healthy life. However, if the delivery is delayed or left untreated, the baby may suffer severe oxygen deprivation, leading to permanent brain damage or even death, and the mother may also face life-threatening infections or complications.
