Mst. Humaya Akter is a housewife from a financially distressed family, living with her husband Md. Abid Hasan, a day laborer, and his elderly grandparents, Md. Sikandar Ali and Mst. Hazera Begum, who have no source of income. The family survives on a monthly income of 7,000 taka, which is barely enough to meet basic daily needs, leaving them unable to afford medical expenses. Humaya is currently 38 weeks pregnant and has a history of pregnancy loss, which makes this pregnancy especially important and concerning for the family.
