Akhi Akter has been diagnosed with Dengue Fever, a mosquito-borne viral illness that commonly causes fever, headache, body ache, nausea, and vomiting. While many dengue cases remain mild, some can progress to severe dengue or dengue hemorrhagic fever, which can be life-threatening. Akhi developed dengue fever with warning signs, including persistent vomiting, high fever, severe body ache, and generalized weakness, indicating the need for urgent hospitalization. Without prompt and proper treatment, her condition could worsen rapidly and may result in serious complications or even death.

Background
Akhi is a 19-year-old mother who lives with her husband and young daughter and is known for her gentle nature, love for hand embroidery, cooking, and gardening, with a strong hope of raising her children as good human beings. Her family has very limited income, making it difficult to manage daily needs, let alone afford hospital admission and treatment for Dengue Fever. After her condition worsened with high fever, vomiting, and severe weakness, she was referred from a government hospital to a tertiary facility, but financial hardship prevented them from going. Without proper treatment, Akhi faces the risk of serious complications from dengue, which could become life-threatening and leave her daughter without her mother’s care. The family learned about Helpster Charity from an older patient who previously received support and is now seeking urgent assistance through Narayanganj Poly Clinic.
Medical history
Akhi, a 19 year was suffering from dengue fever. She required emergency hospitalization due to high fever, severe bodyache, headache, nausea, vomiting and generalized weakness. She was admitted on 01/11/2025 and was discharged on 03/11/2025. Akhi was treated conservatively, and thankfully, she is now doing well and back home with a bright smile. Prognosis
Doctors believe that with timely hospitalization, close monitoring, proper hydration, and supportive treatment, Akhi’s Dengue Fever can be successfully managed, allowing her to recover fully and return to her normal daily life and responsibilities as a young mother. Early treatment significantly reduces the risk of severe complications such as internal bleeding, shock, organ failure, or neurological damage. With appropriate care, she is expected to regain her strength without any long-term health effects. However, if left untreated or if care is delayed, her condition could worsen rapidly, leading to life-threatening complications. In such a scenario, the illness could result in permanent disability or even death, placing her life and her child’s future at serious risk.
