Muskan Akter, a bright and cheerful 14-month-old girl, lives with her parents and brother in a small tin-shed house where every day is a struggle to meet basic needs. For months she had been battling recurrent cough and cold, and when she developed high fever and severe breathing difficulty, the government hospital diagnosed her with severe pneumonia and referred her to a tertiary hospital. But her parents, already burdened by poverty, had no money to take her there, leaving them frightened and hopeless as they watched their lively little girl fight for breath. Without treatment, Muskan is at grave risk of respiratory failure, long-term complications, or even death. Desperate to save their daughter—whom they dream of becoming a kind and successful doctor one day—the family came to Narayanganj Poly Clinic seeking support from Helpster and praying for a chance at proper treatment.

Muskan, 14 month a baby girl, was suffering from Severe Pneumonia. Despite multiple rounds of antibiotics from the local pharmacy, his condition continued to worsen. Muskan's family couldn't cover the treatment. Muskan required emergency hospitalization. Muskan received oxygen therapy, nebulization treatments with sulbutamol, ipratropium bromide, budesonide, as well as injectable antibiotics and hydrocortisone due to the seriousness of his condition. Thankfully, he is now doing well and back home, bringing joy to his parents. She admitted on 02/11/25 and discharged on 07/11/25. Muskan's parents are delighted to have him safe and sound. Pneumonia should be treated with antibiotics. If left untreated, pneumonia may lead to the permanent lung damage, respiratory failure, septicaemia (infection entering blood stream and causing sepsis), pleural effusion (accumulation of fluid in the space between the lung and chest wall, which can make breathing difficult), and other life-threatening complications.
